“Curse you, iOS7! ” as my fumbled hands seek an outlet to resuscitate my iPhone5. This post may be a little dated. I have purposely waited. I was hoping a new update, tip, and SOMETHING would solve the short lifespan of my battery. I am working on accepting that since Steve Jobs passed away (RIP, my genius), Apple went to hell in a handbasket (something my mother would likely say). However, I can always be quiet no longer. Find the Best iPhone Hacker.
I have experimented with every “tip” out there and then been stuck, usually during nowhere (which is at any place without an outlet) with no battery pack, phone, or lifeline. This craze post will cover the obvious battery pack-saving features, in case you have not necessarily tried them. I, for example, have not found these as an answer. But we all have to start somewhere, so here this goes.
1. Do Less-Battery-Intensive Things
Really? Yes, this is one of the suggestions touted by tech writers everywhere. The reason why even have an iPhone? But, in case you limit talking time on the phone (not cool), movies, video games, and web browsing, it can help. In addition, limit battery-intensive apps (more on the even worse apps for battery life later this week).
2. Switch off Equalizer
If you failed to observe, the music app has an equalizer that will adjust bass, treble, etc. By turning this particular off, your music expertise may suffer, but you will save battery life. When I first read this, I thought, “no way”! Then I went to verify my settings. I don’t have it on anyway, and so there ya go!
Come across it in Settings -> Music -> FREQUENCY -> Tap off of
3. Turn Bluetooth Off of
We love our Bluetooth enabled, especially when driving, but it can be a battery drainer. Turn off Bluetooth enabled except when you’re using it; this may help extend battery life.
Come across it in Settings -> Bluetooth -> Transfer Slider to Off
4. Turn Off 4G/LTE
How delighted were we when we listened to LTE was coming? Naturally, all good deeds do not get unpunished. Not surprisingly, using 4-G LTE requires more battery life. I know this is difficult, but if you use 3G ( do you know what we could not wait to get away from), it will help your battery life. Even downsizing from LTE to 4G will help. You will need your battery because everything takes twice as long.
Find it in Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Slip Enable LTE to Away on the iPhone 5 or even newer.
5. Keep Wi-Fi Off
Wi-Fi is another kind of high-speed network that your apple iphone can connect to. It is quicker than 3G, but you tend to be limited to where there is a hotspot. As with Bluetooth, getting Wi-Fi on with the expectation of finding a hotspot will drain your battery. Get it on only when you are utilizing it. Just don’t forget, or your information plan will skyrocket.
Think it is in Settings -> WiFi -> Slip to Off
6. Switch off Location Services
A very fine feature of the iOS7 is a built-in Gps. But, of course, this drains the battery. So, turning it off can be trouble when you need it quickly, but it can save battery life.
Find it in Adjustments -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Slide to Off of
7. Prevent auto revise of Apps.
iOS7 can automatically update your apps for you. This is a great feature that could lessen battery life. Yep, undertake it manually.
Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Updates -> move slider to off/white
8. Turn Data Force Off
Sorry, no more simplicity of having everything there for you if you pick up your phone. Lessen how often your phone joins the network to save your battery.
Find it in Adjustments -> Mail, Lens, Calendar -> Bring New Data -> Slide to Off
9. Fetch Email Less Generally
This is related to the above hint once your data push is focused to off, limit your crazy checking of email. ( I am referring to myself here).
I know, I know–why have we got a smartphone if we have to limit our compulsion to check electronic mail? I agree.
Find it in Configurations -> Mail, Colleagues, Calendar -> Get New Data -> Select Your Preference
10. Switch on Auto-Brightness
Find it in the Configurations app -> Lighting & Wallpaper -> Auto-Brightness On.
11. Decrease Screen Brightness
Taking this a step further, you can manage how bright the display screen will go with this slider. Of course, the less bright the actual less drain. Sigh, right now, where is my flashlight when I need it?
12. Quit Motion
iOS7 has a fascinating feature creating a parallax impact. It is very subtle. When you look at your own apps when moving your iPhone, they will appear to shift separately, as though on different planes. This feature takes from battery life.
Settings -> General -> Supply -> Reduce Movements -> move slider to green/on
13. No longer any Dynamic Backgrounds
Another great feature introduced in iOS 7 is wallpaper; this moves underneath your software package icons. It is often located in the Wallpapers & Backgrounds selection. No need to change it unless you add in the dynamic background. Often the default is off. Find it inside the Settings app -> Brightness & Wallpaper.
14. Prevent Background App Rekindle (iOS 7)
Although My partner and I appreciate iOS7 refreshing my very own apps when needed, it also stinks your battery! So, while nice to have, it is best to transform off.
Settings -> General -> Track record App Refresh -> Either disable the Background software package or just for a certain blog.
15. Quicker Auto-Lock
Returning to sleep, baby: naptime may appear quicker for your iPhone to help battery life. This just is uncomfortable for me to wait an extra second. But I often hate the dead battery blues.
Still find it in Settings -> General -> Auto lock -> Tap personal preferences
16. Buy an Extended Lifetime Battery
If all else doesn’t work, just get more battery. Several accessory makers like mophie and Kensington offer durability batteries for the iPhone.
I might be taking the last suggestion. I think as if I have attempted everything, and my apple iphone is becoming unreliable. I have used many new chargers; I never visit non-outlet areas (you will be amazed at what I will do to discover an outlet and to what length), yet still, I find myself personally without my phone. So we have another tip, maybe another phone! But I do such as apple products… or utilized too.
